A gas station clerk in San Bernardino was shot at and beaten by police officers with batons and stun guns after they arrested the wrong man.

In the violent incident, which occurred outside a Kwik Stop Food Market on June 6, clerk Billy Hill suffered two broken legs, according to his attorney.

Police initially looked for a suspect in the motorcycle accident who matched Hill’s description, but his attorney insisted his client was not involved.

In the violent incident, which occurred outside a Kwik Stop Food Market on June 6, store clerk Billy Hill suffered two broken legs.

The emergency caller described the hit-and-run suspect as a white male wearing a black hat, black shirt and possibly blue jeans.

However, Galipo insists that his client’s identity is false and that he was not involved in the motorcycle accident.

Officers arriving at the scene claimed Hill was speaking uncontrollably and told authorities his motorcycle was locked in his home.

Police claimed Hill was not cooperating and attempted to handcuff the clerk.

A third officer intervened, and as the officers grappled with Hill, one pulled out a taser.

In a desperate attempt to defend himself, Hill kicked the officer and tried to wrest the taser from him.

When the taser proved “ineffective,” the officer grabbed the baton and struck Hill’s legs several times while other officers restrained him.

“He then decided to continue resisting arrest, which escalated the violence to the point where the officers eventually resorted to using batons.”

Passersby at the scene reacted with shock and shouted references to the infamous beating of Rodney King by Los Angeles Police Department officers in 1991. After the attack, Hill was arrested for resisting arrest.

The agency said Hill is a convicted felon with a lengthy criminal history, including previous convictions for possession of a stolen vehicle, resisting arrest and resisting arrest with violence.

The San Bernardino Police Department has launched an internal investigation into the incident and acknowledged public concern.

Police Chief Darren Goodman promised transparency and accountability in the process and is investigating the arrest.

“We recognize the public’s concern and interest in this matter and ask for patience while we conduct a thorough investigation,” he said. “Our department is committed to maintaining transparency and accountability.”

Galipo plans to file a lawsuit against the city, accusing it of excessive use of force and possible failures to de-escalate the situation.
