Georgia football wide receiver arrested

Georgia football receiver Colbie Young was arrested on charges of assault and battery on an unborn child.

On Tuesday morning, it was announced that Georgia wide receiver Colbie Young had been arrested on assault and battery charges, according to Athens Clarke-County Jail logs. Young was booked at 4:18 p.m. His bail is $2,500.

Young transferred from Miami last offseason and has been a contributor to the Bulldogs’ offense this season. In two seasons with the Hurricanes, Young had 930 yards and 10 total touchdowns. He has rushed for 149 yards on 11 receptions and two touchdowns for Georgia this season.

Georgia already lost a wide receiver for the season earlier this year as Rara Thomas was ruled out indefinitely by the team. Thomas was arrested on three counts of cruelty to children in the second degree and three counts of assault. Thomas was a transfer from Mississippi State and was starting his second season with the program before the incident.
