If you’re a serious gamer, you’re probably eagerly awaiting the release of the PlayStation 5 Pro. Gamers have been speculating about the latest version of Sony’s innovative gaming console for some time now, and today the company finally released news about the PlayStation 5 Pro. CNET editor Scott Stein was able to try out the PS5 Pro and do a side-by-side comparison with the existing PlayStation 5. Now we’ve learned that you can officially pre-order the PS5 Pro now. 26 September 2024.

The very first PS5 was released in 2020, and the PS5 Pro includes some fantastic upgrades over the first edition, including clearer and more lifelike visuals. Sony upgraded the PS5 Pro’s GPU and developed memory that’s 28% faster than the current PS5. Other upgrades include 67% more compute units and advanced ray tracing, so you get faster rays of light when you play. The PS5 Pro also displays graphics at faster frame rates to produce crisp images in even the most action-packed games. The PS5 Pro reaches refresh rates of up to 120Hz and features Tempest 3D audio technology for an immersive soundscape.

You can pre-order the PS5 Pro directly from Sony as soon as Thursday, September 26The PS5 Pro will have a retail price of $699.99 and will be available on 7 November. Your purchase includes a pre-installed copy of Astro’s Playroom, a DualSense controller, and 2TB of storage so you can store all your games. The PS5 Pro doesn’t have a disc drive, but you can buy a separate drive so you can play your favorite classics.
