Great fun with the US Navy Band in Portsmouth, NH

Great fun with the US Navy Band in Portsmouth, NH

It’s a special Veterans Night at Prescott Park in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, and you’re invited whether you’re a veteran or not.

If you’ve never heard the United States Navy Band, this is a real treat. They play music from the 1960s to today’s top hits, including music from The Eagles, Stevie Wonder, Bob Marley, Harry Styles, Miley Cyrus and more.

This summer was one big celebration for the Prescott Park Arts Council, celebrating 50 years of music and theater at the waterfront park. There were exceptional performances throughout the season, and the U.S. Navy Band was open to the public and free.

There is no pre-act, so plan to be at the park promptly at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, August 19th to take part in this fun event for the whole family.

American Sign Language is supported at this performance. According to the PPAF Facebook page, the front-center lawn seats are “reserved for deaf and hard-of-hearing patrons to ensure they have a direct line of sight to the interpreters.”

There will also be a special area for veterans and military personnel and their families so that they too can be recognized.

The band will perform whatever the weather, if it rains you will find instructions on the Facebook page. If the gig is indoors it will take place at the Portsmouth Music Hall, which is in partnership with the PPAF.

It is truly a community event for the coast.

The Green Beret Foundation and the Navy Seal Foundation will also be there to support our warriors and veterans. That’s Monday, August 19th at 7 p.m. in Prescott Park. See you there.
