Guy Fieri uses these 7 kitchen appliances when camping

Guy Fieri uses these 7 kitchen appliances when camping

A few summers ago I started looking Guy’s typical American road tripin which Guy Fieri takes his friends and family on a multi-day camping adventure filled with sightseeing, games, and—you guessed it—great food. Since then, it’s become my go-to feel-good show to watch on the weekends when I have a moment to snuggle up on my couch and relax.

I owe much of my knowledge of camping cooking to watching Fieri and his cooking buddies. I’ve watched them grill steaks for a taco bar or cook lobster in a giant stockpot. Each time, their camp kitchen is usually set up to cook for a dozen or more people, and it’s filled with appliances I envy. I’ve rounded up my favorites below, including a grill spatula, cooler, and grill tongs.

Guy Fieri’s Top Picks for Camping Kitchen Gear

  • Anmarko Chef Griddle Spatulas, set of 3, $20, originally $23
  • Daily Kisn Grill Tongs, $8
  • Igloo Insulated Portable Cooler, $70, originally $80
  • Wildone Baking Sheet with Rack Set, Set of 2, $27, originally $34
  • Blackstone Tabletop Griddle, $158, originally $200

Watching one of Fieri’s cooking friends press a burger patty with a grill spatula convinced me to buy a grill spatula of my own. The wide and slightly offset blade gives you better leverage for flipping heavier foods like burgers or pancakes. This stainless steel set includes a short spatula for more precise flipping and a longer one for getting under multiple pancakes or burger patties. The set also includes a grill scraper. These durable tools are invaluable at the campsite and right now the entire set is only $20.

Daily Kisn Grill Tongs

Amazon

Cooking over high heat creates wonderful flavors, but it can be uncomfortable to be so close to a grill or fire pit. Throughout the show, long grill tongs constantly appeared at mealtimes, whether they were being used to flip steaks or serve salad. These grill tongs from Daily Kisn are just like the ones from the show, with 17-inch handles that provide a sturdy, extended grip. At just $8, it’s worth buying several pairs for both the home kitchen and the campsite.

Insulated portable cooler from Igloo

Amazon

During the episode where Fieri and his chef friends put together a restaurant-quality taco bar in their camp kitchen, I spied an Igloo cooler in the background. Up until then, I had always used a soft cooler bag on all my camping trips, which always left me with nearly lukewarm cans of mineral water just hours after arriving at the campsite. While my bag is still great for quick purchases, I am thankful that Guy’s typical American road trip gave me the idea to get my own cooler. This Igloo cooler from the show is sturdy, leak-proof, and keeps ice for several days.

Wildone Baking Tray with Rack Set, Set of 2

Amazon

When camping, the way you serve food is just as important as the way it’s prepared. When I saw that Fieri uses baking sheets with cooling racks to hold piping hot food while preventing it from getting soggy, I knew I had to get a set. Especially for larger groups, they provide ample space to set down ready-to-eat food while you work on the next batch. Plus, this set of two is 22% off and made from heavy-duty stainless steel for added durability at the campsite.

Blackstone table grill plate

Amazon

Every time the camp kitchen was set up, Guy’s typical American road tripwas a flat top griddle front and center that could easily serve breakfast and burgers for over a dozen people. The model in the show is this larger flat top griddle from Camp Chef, but I’ve had my eye on the Blackstone tabletop griddle since I don’t have as much room in my car. I don’t own it yet, but it’s always on my wish list because I love the idea of being able to cook burgers or pancakes right on the flat top instead of having to lug around a portable stove and individual pans. Now that it’s 21% off, I’m definitely tempted.

Cooks Standard Stainless Steel Stockpot, 12 Quart

Amazon

Whether the pots are used to store sauces or cook whole lobsters, they are a workhorse on Fieri camping trips. For cooking large quantities of chili or stews, a stainless steel stockpot is the perfect solution that can withstand harsh conditions and deliver great camping meals. At 43% off, I’m tempted to purchase this stockpot and expand my camping cookware collection.

Nicole Home aluminum pans, pack of 30

Amazon

At nearly every meal on the show, food was piled high on these deep aluminum pans to serve Fieri’s large circle of friends and family. It looked so convenient to use these pans instead of having to bring serving dishes from home that would be heavier and take up more space. They’re also great for prep work, like marinating large amounts of meat or storing vegetables for grilling. Right now, they’re on sale for just 76 cents each.
