The City of New York has launched a housing lottery for three units in a five-story apartment building at 14-09 31st Avenue in Astoria.

In total, there are seven apartments in the building, four of which are offered at market rate. The remaining three units are reserved for people earning 130% of the area median income.

All three units are one-bedroom apartments. The monthly rent for each of them is $2,550. They are intended for households of up to three people with a combined annual income between $87,429 and $181,740.

Resident amenities include washers, dryers and dishwashers in each unit, high-end kitchen appliances, countertops and finishes, air conditioning, hardwood floors and patios or balconies. The building also features a recreation room, rooftop deck, virtual doorman, intercom and security cameras. Additionally, the building is pet-friendly (up to 30 pounds) and smoke-free. Tenants are responsible for electricity, including stove, hot water and heat.

Those wishing to apply for housing in the units reserved in this building must meet housing size and income requirements. New York City residents will be given preference in unit selection. Applications must be postmarked or submitted online by September 3. Qualified applicants must also meet additional eligibility criteria.

This residential building was designed by Carusone and Cherres Architects. 1409 Astoria LLC developed the property.
