This will be the first part of a three-game series. We’ll look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Astros vs. A’s bet.

In their final set, the A’s faced the Detroit Tigers. Oakland won the first game of the series 7-6, but then lost the next two games 2-1 and 9-1. In Sunday’s loss, the A’s allowed a total of 16 hits and six runs in the eighth inning alone.

The A’s are starting Osvaldo Bido for Tuesday’s starting spot. This year, Bido has a 5-3 record with a 3.41 ERA in 16 games (nine starts). In 32 career games (18 starts), Bido has a 7-8 record with a 4.50 ERA.

Spencer Arrighetti will start for the Astros on Tuesday. So far, Arrighetti has a record of 7-12 with a 4.82 ERA in the first 25 starts of his career. After that series, the Astros will face the Angels.

Prediction for Houston Astros vs Oakland Athletics

I’m probably sticking with Houston. Arrighetti will have to get back on his feet here, though. In his last appearance, Arrighetti allowed three earned runs in 0.2 innings in a loss to the Reds. Before that, however, Arrighetti had 13.2 clean innings in two wins. As for Bido, he has allowed a total of six earned runs in his last 13.1 innings.

The Astros have had an up-and-down series, but they’ve scored pretty well. Houston has scored a total of 23 runs in three games against the Diamondbacks. They’ll need a solid performance from the bullpen in Monday’s opener, but I think they have a good chance.
