How to use the Fast Talk ability of Star Wars Outlaws

How to use the Fast Talk ability of Star Wars Outlaws

Star Wars Outlaws’ Fast Talk ability is difficult for players to learn, as even when given to you by Expert Bram, the actual function of Fast Talk (and how to use it) is still somewhat unclear. Fast Talk is actually quite useful, even if the name may be a little inappropriate. Rather than actively talking down a situation and letting enemies wave you past, like Star Wars Outlaws’ Bluff or Briber the Bouncer option, it’s used to buy yourself a moment more time before enemies become aggressive. If you need help mastering the Fast Talk ability in Star Wars Outlaws, here’s everything you need to know.

Fast Talk in Star Wars Outlaws is obtained by completing challenges from Bram, one of the Star Wars Outlaws experts, and is used in the game as follows:

  1. If Kay Vess is in a restricted area and hidden, enemies will search for her.
  2. When an enemy sees them, a brief transition from Alert (orange) to Aggressive (red) occurs.
  3. If you look at the enemy at this moment, a prompt will appear above his head to press R3/RS.
  4. This solves Quick conversationwhich causes them to remain in the orange alert state for a few seconds longer than normal.
  5. You have this window of time to develop a plan and take action before you are attacked.
  6. If you perform an action, such as attempting to run or shoot, the Fast Talk state will end immediately.
  7. Fast Talk cannot be used in the mandatory “Don’t Get Caught” stealth sequences where killing enemies is not allowed.

This raises the obvious question: what do you do with it in Star Wars Outlaws? Well, the main answer is: shoot the person you are talking to quickly. Your blaster’s stun effect can stop them without you losing your cover, but if you don’t have it ready, all you have to do is fire from the hip and take them down. Other options include a smoke bomb if you’ve unlocked it – or just taking cover.
