How to watch Phillies and Nationals on Saturday, channel, stream and lineups

The Philadelphia Phillies are locked in for the 2024 MLB Playoffs despite their 9-1 loss to the Washington Nationals last night.

They still have a chance to secure home-field advantage in the postseason, but they must win both of their remaining games while the Los Angeles Dodgers must lose both.

The Phillies will be at their best on Saturday as star player and National League Cy Young contender Zack Wheeler (16-7, 2.56 ERA) takes the mound.

In his last start, Wheeler allowed two earned runs on seven hits and one walk while posting eight strikeouts in seven innings and suffering his seventh loss of the season.

After posting a 1.62 ERA in August, the veteran right-hander was just as good in his run for his first National League Cy Young Award in September.

In four starts this month, Wheeler has posted a 2.08 ERA with a 0.85 ERA and 30 strikeouts in 26 innings.

Another good start to close out the season and break the 200 innings pitching mark would put Wheeler in prime position for pitching’s most prestigious award.

Here is Philadelphia’s lineup on Saturday:

1.) DH Kyle Schwarber
2.) SS Trea Turner
3.) 1B Bryce Harper
4.) RF Nick Castellanos
5.) 3B Alec Bohm
6.) CJT Realmuto
7.) 2B Bryson Stott
8.) LF Weston Wilson
9.) CF Brandon Marsh

SP Zack Wheeler

The Nationals will counter with young left-hander MacKenzie Gore (10-12, 4.04 ERA).

In his last start, Gore allowed one earned run on one hit and three walks while striking out nine in seven innings and picking up his 10th win of the season.

September was Gore’s best month of the season, as he posted a 1.59 ERA with a 0.84 WHIP and 26 strikeouts in 22 2/3 innings in four starts.

Washington will be looking for another strong start from its young left-hander as it continues to try to spoil the Phillies and their quest for home-field advantage during the playoffs.

Here’s how the Nationals will line up on Saturday:

1.) 2B Luis Garcia Jr.
2.) LF James Wood
3.) C Keibert Ruiz
4.) 3B Jose Tena
5.) DH Juan Yepez
6.) RF Dylan Crews
7.) 1B Joey Gallo
8.) CF Jacob Young
9.) SS Nasim Nunez

SP MacKenzie Gore

First pitch for Saturday’s game is scheduled for 4:05 p.m. EST.

The game will be broadcast nationally on MLB Network (out-of-market only), as well as NBC Sports Philadelphia and MASN.

Philadelphia fans can listen to the game on 94 WIP or WTTM 1680.
