Hulu is experiencing massive outages during the NLCS screening

Hulu’s live coverage of several sporting events last night, including the Dodgers-Mets NLCS game, was “interrupted by technical difficulties” as users reported that the streaming service “suddenly went down.” Around 83,000 failures were registered. The Dodgers and Mets were tied 1-1 in the second inning of Game 4, around the time Hulu’s streaming servers “encountered issues.” Users “missed the second through fourth innings” and were “still having trouble logging in” as of 10:00 p.m. ET/7:00 p.m. PT. In posts on Hulu’s support account on The support team “responded to some accounts and offered a link to Hulu’s support page” – which “ended up not being possible either.” Hulu’s package of live TV, Disney+ and ESPN+ “increased its price to as much as $95.99 per month on the same day that baseball coverage dropped” (LA TIMES, October 17th).

Hulu also experienced a “nightmarish situation” during the Guardians’ Game 3 ALCS win over the Yankees last night, as the streamer suffered the outage just as the game was about to reach its climax. Many fans “stormed on social media during the fateful 10th inning” to “express their dissatisfaction with the Disney-owned streaming giant as their live sports broadcasts came to a shocking halt” before Guardians G David Fry‘s two-run walk-off homer cut the Yankees’ series lead to 2-1 (NY POST, October 18th).
