Human remains found on Phoenix Mountain are those of missing Peoria teenager

PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Authorities identified human remains found earlier this week in a mountain range north of Phoenix as those of a 16-year-old boy who was reported missing five months ago.

Peoria Police announced that the remains of Bradley Klose were found in the mountain range near 67th Avenue and Happy Valley Road.

Earlier this week, authorities were called to the shooting scene around 7:15 a.m. for an “unknown incident.” A witness in the area led authorities to the human remains in a remote location of the Deem Hills Recreation Area. Phoenix police then informed Peoria investigators that they were working on the death investigation.

Klose was last seen in Peoria on April 8. According to investigators, the teen left work near Lake Pleasant Parkway and Happy Valley Road. He was last seen around 6 p.m. near 75th Avenue and Jomax Road.

Following the positive identification, Klose’s family released a statement:

Investigators say Klose is autistic and his family was concerned for his safety because it was “not normal behavior.”

Peoria police are conducting the death investigation and are not seeking suspects. Authorities say there does not appear to be any criminal activity or suspicious circumstances surrounding Klose’s death.

Klose’s cause of death is being determined by the Maricopa County Coroner’s Office.
