“I am deeply disgusted that this store is closing”

I am deeply disgusted that such a necessary and valuable charity as Headway is having to close its shop doors in Worcester due to rising rents.

The nearest charity shop of its kind is now in Stourbridge and with no car and public transport so lacking, it is a pity to me and many others that we cannot get there.

Most of the volunteers are people recovering from life’s hardships, and yet they still smile, help, and chat with their clients.

During the many years that my husband suffered from inoperable cancer, her compassionate thoughts and words gave me strength.

I was also touched by how they cared about me despite the hardships of life.

I realise there are many charities out there and we all do our bit to help, but I cannot for the life of me understand why some have to fall by the wayside when they are needed.

Landlords – Your businesses sit idle during the closure and you lose money.

So many old, listed buildings are in urgent need of repair or renovation, which of course is the responsibility of the landlords.

I apologize if this letter offends you, but it must be put on paper.

I will miss them all very much – eight years, I think.

Most of my wardrobe comes from Headway, but I’ve also brought in some new pieces.

It is a sad day when Headway closes its doors, but it has opened our hearts to beautiful memories that will always be close to our hearts.

Thank you, Headway.
