Before this update, the Photos app was full of tabs. As someone who needs to have everything in one place, I found it chaotic and disorganized. It was difficult to find specific albums or put things in easy-to-find locations.

While many would argue that the new Photos app is even more complicated, I’d say it helps that it’s also extremely customizable. All of the content is on one screen; a scroll down accesses your entire camera roll, while a scroll up houses all of your albums, collections, people, and more. You can change this in the app by scrolling down and selecting “Customize & reorder.”

Recent Days is a new addition that helps me keep track of daily content. It sits near your albums and contains all the photos you’ve taken throughout the day, minus the screenshots (of which we all have a ton).

For example, during the Apple launch, my phone was exploding with content, screenshots and everything. With this new feature, I can click on that date and go through all the hands-on content I received without being interrupted by screenshots.

By customizing, you can keep this collection at the top of your feed or in other categories that help you stay organized. Now I can pull up content from a specific day without scrolling all the way back, and hopefully it will work the same for you.
