‘I’m going to slaughter him’ – Mike Tyson says his own mother wouldn’t be safe in the ring in a chilling warning to Jake Paul

Mike Tyson is worried Jake Paul will avoid a slugfest in their upcoming clash.

Tyson, aged 58, will return to the ring on November 15 in a massive showdown with Paul, a fight that will be sanctioned and count on the pair’s professional records.

Tyson is expected to be aggressive and seek a stoppage in front of 80,000 spectators at At&T Stadium in Texas.

The fight will be fought over eight two-minute rounds, a format that could benefit the lumbering legend.

And he believes Paul’s tactics could be negative given the imminent threat to his power, despite his age.

When asked if he was afraid for Paul given what he was dealing with, he told talkSPORT’s Adam Catterall in an exclusive interview that Paul knew what he was getting into.

“Whoever is in this ring has a problem with me,” he said. “If my mother got in the ring, she has a problem with me. Don’t go into this ring if you don’t want this problem.”

This warning was frightening and reminded Paul and his fans what he was getting himself into. At his peak, he was the youngest heavyweight champion ever, having fought his way through the heavyweight division in the 1980s.

In his prime, his strength was unmatched and he was often able to defeat his opponents before the first bell rang.

The Hall of Famer famously once said that everyone has a plan until they get punched in the mouth, and when asked what he expects if Paul feels forced, the former undisputed heavyweight champion said: “I see him run around and have to try and catch him and kill him.

“He’s a good little fighter, but he’s only had ten fights, which is considered amateur in our area.”

Paul has bulked up to around 230 pounds to try to match the strength of the former undisputed heavyweight champion.

He has regularly spoken about being “afraid” of the power of legend, which led to him having an 88 percent knockout rate during his professional career.

While Tyson is far from reaching his prime of winning a fight before the first bell, he showed he still packs a ferocious punch by posting training footage of his hard-hitting punches in camp.

The veteran even dropped a partner during sparring in preparation, a warning to the “problem child” that he should be taken seriously despite his age.

Paul is confident he takes Tyson seriously and believes his physical advantages will counteract the legend’s natural strength.

He said, “He can’t bite my ear off if I knock out his teeth.”

“I am the faster man. He’s the much stronger man, but I’m fresh. He has experience.”

“I’m smart, but he might be smarter in the ring, so it’s a really interesting matchup.”

“It’s going to be hard. He looks like a beast, he’s a dog, he’s ‘Iron’ Mike Tyson.”

“But I believe I have what it takes to beat him and I know this is the toughest test of my life and it is an honor to be there with Mike.”

“But at the end of the day, I’ll be the one raising my hand.”

In the fight between Paul and Tyson, the two meet 31 years apart and at very different physical levels.

Although it represents a significant payday for the heavyweight legend, who is expected to earn around $20 million.

Tyson has not competed since 2005, when he retired after three defeats in his last four outings, including his last fight against Kevin McBride.

But he will be confident after an appearance with Roy Jones Jr in 2020 that he has enough to hold his own against the less experienced Paul.
