Walmart employees have offered alternative theories about the death of the 19-year-old employee, who was charred to death in the store’s walk-in oven in Canada. The charred remains of Indian-Canadian teenager Gursimran Kaur were found on October 19 in the walk-in oven of the Walmart where she worked in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Following her tragic death, several TikTok users who worked at Walmart shared their insights into the mechanics of the walk-in oven. Some claimed that there was no way you could get stuck in it unless you were pushed into it.

TikTok user Chris Breezie, while demonstrating how the oven works at Walmart, claimed that the machine turns on from the outside and doesn’t close easily.

Oven door does not lock easily

“I don’t even know if I fit in here. I am 1.70 m tall and medium build. “I would have to squat to get in,” she explained, adding that no employee was required to enter the oven and clean it.

She also claimed that the heavy oven door was not that easy to lock because to close it you had to “push the latch with all your strength, pull the handle to the side and lock it.”

She concluded that it was impossible for someone to lock themselves in the oven. Interestingly, she said she doesn’t rule out the possibility of being pushed into the oven against her will. “Someone could throw me in there and lock me up there, but that’s a whole different scenario,” she claimed.

Another Walmart employee echoed a similar thought, explaining that it was impossible to lock yourself in the oven. In a TikTok video, she even demonstrated how to get into the oven and get out using an emergency release with a simple push function.

“I’m not trying to theorize or form a conspiracy, it’s just hard to understand when Walmart’s bakery ovens are so safe to use,” she said.

Her video went viral and sparked reactions from other Walmart employees who agreed that the oven door didn’t close easily.

Mother discovered charred body

While police investigations are ongoing, it is still unclear how Gursimran became trapped in the oven.

Her mother, who worked at the store with her daughter, was the one who discovered her body inside after a frantic search. Workers suspected her body was inside after they noticed a leak from the oven.

“Imagine the horror experienced by her mother – who opened the oven herself. As you all know, her charred remains were found after a few hours in the bakery’s walk-in oven,” reads a GoFundMe page for Gursimran.
