Interview: Paul Reiser and Colm Meaney talk about “The Problem with People”

One of the joys of watching The problem with people sees Colm Meaney And Paul Reiser paired. Imagine that one of the joys of talking to Meaney and Reiser about the film is listening to them interact. The film lives and dies by their chemistry, so it was an absolute pleasure to watch some of it in person and discuss the work along the way. With the flick hitting theaters in a few days, I recently sat down with the actors over Zoom to talk about their performances. Today this conversation comes to you…

In my review of The problem with people (here) I had this to say about Meaney and Reiser:

Paul Reiser and Colm Meaney have wonderful chemistry, so it’s great fun to watch them all the time. Meaney can be a little bigger, befitting his more volatile character, but it’s still a charming and funny work. Reiser gets one of his best shows yet, in which he always shows off his comedic talent, but with a pathos that touches me. He can also sell a joke like no other, which we see more than once here.

You can see my chat with Meaney and Reiser below. We obviously talk a lot about their interactions in the film, but we start with sports. Plus, we end with their discovery that they both made episodes of Remington Steele earlier in her career, which makes for a very entertaining story. Both gentlemen are delightful, they fit together quite well, and you can see that not only in the film but also in this discussion. In my humble opinion, both are a must!
