Introducing the Hudson Valley’s newest restaurant in Highland, NY

Introducing the Hudson Valley’s newest restaurant in Highland, NY

After months of anticipation, a new restaurant has finally opened its doors in Ulster County.

Flavorful Ladle in Highland, NY opened in 2019 and has a 4.5-star rating on both Yelp and Google. When it closed in 2022, the convenience of a restaurant on Route 44, just yards from Rocking Horse Ranch in Highland, NY, was gone for local residents. Thankfully, new owners have stepped in with a new name and a new business model.

Robbie’s Breakfast & Lunch now open in Highland, NY

Owner Michael Hinspeter decided to name the new restaurant after his son and uncle, both named Robbie. What sets the new business apart, Hinspeter says, is its unique approach to food service. “We’re not a restaurant, and we’re not a typical deli. I would say we’ll be kind of like Tony’s Newburgh Lunch… like an old luncheonette-style place.” There are also special offers for many residents of the Hudson Valley.

Robbie’s Breakfast & Lunch menu includes an “all day, every day” 10% discount for students, teachers, military and first responders. It also includes another detail that may be small but goes a long way: all menu prices already include New York sales tax.
