iOS 18 finally adds transcription to voice memos – here’s how to use it

One of the new features in iOS 18 is the ability to transcribe your voice memos without the need for third-party software.

The number of devices offering native transcription options has increased significantly, and Apple is no exception with iOS 18, offering everything from the transcription recording tool in Notes to Apple Intelligence that potentially records calls in real time. This includes the new transcription feature for the Recording app, and unlike other phones, there doesn’t seem to be a time limit on how long the recording can last.
