Tate McRae continues to prove that she is an expert in pop culture history with the release of her single “It’s ok I’m ok”.

The 21-year-old “Exes” hitmaker released the new song, a fiery farewell kiss, produced by ILYA and written with Savan Kotecha And Ryan Tedderon Thursday (September 12).

She also revealed the music video, which features artists such as Britney Spears and the Pussycat Dolls.

About the song: Tate speaks to her ex’s new partner and makes it clear that she is not jealous.

“No, nothing could make me miss it / Take it, it’s yours,” she sings, before moving on to the chorus: “It’s OK, I’m OK, I had it.”

The music video is another highly choreographed masterpiece from the director Hannah Lux DavisIn it a topless Tate is arrested and put in the back of a police car before fleeing into a crowd of fans. She then dances on a car roof and performs a tight routine with a group of backing dancers.

Fans on X (formerly Twitter) compared the video with Britney‘s visuals for “I Wanna Go”, “Outrageous” and “Womanizer” as well as a photo shoot with the renowned photographer David LaChapelleSome also saw honors for the PCD Video for “When I Grow Up”.
