Jordan Love limps off the field and could mean an injury nightmare for the Packers

The Packers could have more to worry about than just a Week 1 loss.

Not only did Green Bay lose 34-29 to the Eagles in Brazil, franchise quarterback Jordan Love also apparently sustained a lower body injury in the last series of games and limped off the field with the help of the team in the Corinthians Arena.

“We know what kind of guy he is and how he approaches everything,” said wide receiver Christian Watson. “Whatever it is, I know he’s going to get through it. We’re going to get through it.”

The injury occurred shortly after Love threw a 33-yard pass to Jayden Reed to bring the Packers near the halfway line.

On the next play, with less than 20 seconds left on the clock, Love was heavily pressured by Jalen Carter and Josh Sweat and threw a back pass to Josh Jacobs for a 4-yard gain.

Carter was on the ground holding Love’s left leg when Sweat pushed the quarterback to the ground.

The Packers training staff cared for him while he was on the ground.

He finally carefully left the spot and was assisted by two employees.

“This is the franchise,” defensive end Kenny Clark said. “Hopefully he can be back next week and be OK.”

After the game, head coach Matt LaFleur told reporters he was unsure about Love’s condition or possible injury.

“I don’t know. I don’t know,” he said, according to ESPN.

Substitute Malik Willis took over for the final two plays, threw an incomplete pass and then took a sack that ended the game.

When the players came onto the field after the final whistle, Love did not immediately get up from the Packers bench, where the Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts met him for a final handshake.

Peacock cameras showed Love getting help from the field into the tunnel after that moment.

Love, fresh off signing a $220 million contract extension in the offseason, finished the game with 260 passing yards, two touchdowns and an interception.
