Juliette Lewis and Mamoudou Athie take part in body swap photo “By Design”

EXCLUSIVE: Juliette Lewis (Yellow Jackets) and Mamoudou Athie (Types of kindness) lead the occupation of By Designa new indie film written and directed by Amanda Kramer (Please, baby, please), whose production was completed in Los Angeles.

Other cast members include Samantha Mathis (The Exorcism), Robin Tunney (Dear Edward), Clifton Collins Jr. (jockey), Udo Kier (Swan Song) and Betty Buckley (eternity).

While plot details are being kept secret, the film has been described as a twist on the body swap genre.

Miranda Bailey and Natalie Whalen of Cold Iron Pictures (Swiss Army Man, The diary of a teenager) produced together with Sarah Winshall of Smudge Films (I saw the TV light up), Jacob Agger and Amanda Kramer. Lauren Mann, Jason Beck, Madison McKinley, James Belfer, Karen Belfer and Riccardo Maddalosso served as executive producers.

An Oscar nominee who is currently starring in Showtime’s hit drama Yellow Jacketswhich is currently entering its third season, Lewis will next be seen alongside Peter Dinklage in the critically acclaimed dark western thriller The thicketShe has also signed a contract to star alongside Ayo Edebiri and John Malkovich in opusa horror film that marks the first feature film from writer and director Mark Anthony Green and is financed and produced by A24.

Kramer’s latest feature film, the musical drama Please, baby, pleaseopened the International Film Festival in Rotterdam and won the Grand Jury Prize at Outfest. The film will be released in 2022. Andrea Riseborough, Harry Melling, Karl Glusman and Demi Moore played the leading roles. Most recently he directed the documentary So unrealnarrated by Debbie Harry, which premiered domestically at Fantastic Fest and internationally in Rotterdam, she is also behind titles such as Have pity on me!, Ladyworld And Parisian windows.
