Agatha – All the time premiered on Disney+ with a bang, as it featured one of the first nude scenes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

“It was Kathryn’s idea,” executive producer and creator of the show Jac Schaeffer revealed in an interview with TVLine published on Wednesday, September 18. Not only the nudity was her idea, but Kathryn Hahnwho plays the titular witch in the series, performed the scene herself instead of using a double.

In the first episode of the series, which premiered on Wednesday, Agatha wakes up naked in her house after breaking free from the spell that Wanda Maximoff had cast on her (Elizabeth Olsen) in the WandaVision Series finale. She angrily leaves her house – without clothes – to ask her neighbors how long she has been trapped in the town of Westview.

While Agatha’s hair covers her chest throughout the scene, her bottom is fully visible as she walks home after getting answers about her situation from Herb (David Payton).

“The idea in the script was that she comes out of the spell, you know, naked, because that’s very witchy, and she’s stripped off all her, sort of, performative selves and we get to the real Agatha,” Schaeffer, 45, said of the scene that began with Agatha switching through all her TV alter egos, from WandaVision before she awoke from her trance.

She continued, “But in the storylines, she realizes where she is, and then she grabs a robe and goes outside. And Kathryn came to me and was like, ‘I mean, would Agatha stop to get a robe?’ And I was like, ‘I don’t know, would she?’ And she was like, ‘I just have a feeling she would walk out there naked.’ And Kathryn was so into it, so I showed it to (the president of Marvel Studios). Kevin (Cowardly).”

Despite some reservations, Feige, 51, ultimately gave the creative decision his OK. “I love it because it’s so grounded in the characters. It’s not exploitative, it’s not sexual,” Schaeffer added. “It’s about this witch and her priorities. And in that moment, her priorities are that she needs answers and she doesn’t care if she’s naked or not. So, yes, it’s a matter of pride for us.”

Agatha not only awoke naked from Wanda’s spell, but also powerless from her three-year trance. The series follows Agatha as she forms a coven to walk the Witch’s Way, a realm that can give witches what they desire most if they make it to the end of the dangerous path. The series also stars Joe Locke, Aubrey Plaza, Patti LuPone, Sasheer Zamata, Ali Ahn And Debra Jo Rupp.
