Krispy Kreme expands its menu with 4 Barbie donuts

Come on, Barbie, let’s go party – at Krispy Kreme!

To celebrate the 65th anniversary of the Barbie brand, the bakery chain is adding the Barbie x Krispy Kreme Collection to its menu for a limited time.

Starting Tuesday, September 3, Barbie fans can get their hands on four Barbie-inspired doughnuts: Barbie Pink, Malibu Dream Party, Barbie Berries ‘n Kreme and Barbie Sweet 65th Doughnut.

The Barbie Pink Donut, a nod to the brand’s iconic signature color, is a Krispy Kreme Original Glazed donut decorated with pink buttercream and a matching candy cone – plus classic Barbie sunglasses.

Barbie DreamHouse fans can satisfy their sweet tooth with the Malibu Dream Party Donut. Filled with Cake Batter Kreme, the unglazed donut features a DreamHouse-inspired scene with Malibu Blue icing, graham sand, frosting clouds – and, of course, a miniature version of the doll’s iconic pad.

The Barbie Berries ‘n Kreme Donut features a Strawberry Kreme-filled, white-glazed donut with purple and pink buttercream stripes and a centerpiece featuring a classic Barbie “B” and a profile of the iconic doll.

And in the most direct nod to this brand milestone, the Barbie Sweet 65th Donut is an Original Glazed Donut with chocolate glaze and “Barbie Sweet 65th” sprinkles in the brand’s classic colors: pink, purple, blue, green and white.

In addition to the limited-time doughnuts, Krispy Kreme will also offer other “special treats” at participating stores, including, for the first time, Barbie Fashionista dolls personalized with Krispy Kreme accessories – a paper hat, a dozen-pack and a doughnut.

And on Saturday, September 7, anyone wearing pink at participating Krispy Kreme stores will receive a free Original Glazed Doughnut.

The new Barbie collaboration collection comes less than a month after Krispy Kreme teamed up with Dr Pepper to launch the Krispy Kreme x Dr Pepper Kickoff Collection in honor of football season.

In addition, the release comes about two months after the bakery chain celebrated its own brand milestone: 87 years in business.

In July, Krispy Kreme customers could purchase a dozen glazed doughnuts for just 87 cents, honoring the chain’s entire life in business since founder Vernon Rudolph first sold doughnuts in grocery stores in 1937.
