Kristy predicted that the hurricane off Mexico will quickly become a Category 4 hurricane

According to the National Hurricane Center (NHC), Hurricane Kristy continues to gain strength and is expected to rapidly strengthen, potentially reaching Category 4 strength as it moves away from Mexico and swirls across the Pacific Ocean.

The remnants of former Tropical Storm Nadine formed into Kristy in the eastern Pacific on Monday. Since this was not Nadine’s original print run, the NHC assigned him the next name on the Eastern Pacific name list.

Nadine made landfall Saturday afternoon near Belize City, Belize, with sustained winds of 60 miles per hour. After moving inland over Central America and Mexico, the storm weakened and dissipated on Sunday before its remnants emerged over the eastern Pacific.
