Lamar Jackson: We would have won the AFC Championship Game if my legs had been good

Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson says the loss to the Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game was due to fatigue in his legs after a long season.

Jackson said after a summer workout that his legs were fresh after the offseason and that if he felt the same way at the end of the postseason, the Ravens would have beaten the Chiefs because his running ability would have been too much for their defense.

“How I feel right now,” he told the Washington Post“I wish I felt like this physically at the AFC Championship. We would have won the game. I could have moved for my guys. I was just in pain and couldn’t move. I know if my legs were OK, we would have won that shit. We wouldn’t have even had to throw the ball. F— throw the ball.”

Jackson said he really wants to get to where the Chiefs have been the last two years and end up holding the Lombardi Trophy.

“I want to feel it,” he says. “I want the ultimate reward for what I’ve worked my ass off for my whole life.”

Tonight, Jackson gets another chance against the Chiefs as he begins a new attempt to get there. A win tonight would be great, but the championship isn’t won for five months, and Jackson’s legs might be fresher tonight than they will be for a potential playoff rematch against the Chiefs.
