The death of her son was so shocking to Lisa Marie Presley that she chose an unusual way to deal with her grief, according to her memoir.

In From Here To The Great Unknownthe late star reflected on her son Benjamin Keough’s suicide death in 2020.

But Michael Jackson’s wife didn’t bury him immediately. Instead, the book says, she took the body to her family’s home in L.A. and placed it in “a separate casitas bedroom.”

“They told us if we could take care of the body, we could have it home,” wrote her daughter Riley Keough, who finished the memoir after her death. “So (Presley) kept him in our house on dry ice for a while.”

The author revealed that her son’s body was on ice for two months. “There is no law in the state of California that says you have to bury someone immediately,” he adds. “I found a very compassionate funeral home owner.”

“I told her that having my father in the house after he died was incredibly helpful because I could spend time with him and talk to him. She said, ‘We’re bringing Ben Ben to you. You can have him there.’ ‘”

Lisa said she was grateful to be able to spend more time grieving her son, adding it was “a way to still parent him” while she comes to terms with “laying him to rest.”
