Live Updates: Alabama football game vs USF results, injury report and more

First quarter

— 1:38: Alabama stops USF on third down when Malachi Moore tackles a short pass, leading to another USF punt.

— 2:17: Que Robinson slows down South Florida’s booming offense by recording another sack this season.

— 3:50 am: Tyler Booker with a false start. He is working as left tackle, a new position for him. Alabama is stuck. Jalen Milroe throws CJ Dippre down while Milroe is on the run after a pressure.

— 4:56: Fourth and 1 from the South Florida 34-yard line, it looks like the Bulls are going for it. But Alabama doesn’t bite. USF calls timeout and then punts.

— 5:02: South Florida tries to go deep on the first and second plays of the drive. Twice the Bulls try to tackle Zabien Brown, but each time Byrum Brown throws to his open receiver.

— Sellout attendance for the game based on tickets sold. The announced attendance is 100,077.

— 5:42 am: Jalen Milroe runs for a 10-yard touchdown on the right side. Alabama wins 7-3 Lead after a 10-play drive over 65 yards.

— 6:11 am: Alabama appears to have scored an easy 21-yard touchdown through Justice Haynes, but it is called back for holding.

— 8:33 am: Caleb Odom checks in as a receiver, grabs the ball and gets six yards and a first down.

— 8:41 am: Alabama is able to move the sticks on third down when Ryan Williams receives a pass interference call deep in the field, giving Alabama its first first down of the game.

— 9:15 am: South Florida also managed a three-and-out. Byrum Brown had an open receiver behind the defense on the third attempt, but he threw the receiver too far.

— 10:54 am: Jalen Milroe can’t reach Kendrick Law on the right sideline. Alabama starts with a three-and-out.

— 11:26: Tyler Booker officially starts as left tackle in place of Kadyn Proctor.

— 11:26 am: The Bulls ran 43 yards on the opening drive, an average of 5.4 yards per run, to take a 3-0 lead.

— 14:54: First drive: South Florida gets a first down on the first play with a 12-yard pass play. On third down, Que Robinson misses a tackle by South Florida quarterback Byrum Brown. Brown was able to run 14 yards for a first down. On the third third down of the drive, the Bulls had a third-and-8 from the Alabama 10-yard line and then got a bad start. On third-and-14, Jihaad Campbell intercepted a pass and easily could have taken it back for a pick six if he had caught it. USF attempts a 34-yard field goal and succeeds. The Bulls take a 3-0 lead.

Before the game

— The first team OLs warming up are (left to right): Tyler Booker, Geno VanDeMark, Parker Brailsford, Jaeden Roberts, Wilkin Formby. With Proctor not expected to play, Booker moves from guard to tackle and VanDeMark moves into the starting lineup.

— It looks like starting left tackle Kadyn Proctor “probably won’t be ready for the game right now,” DeBoer said before the game on CTSN. DeBoer said Proctor is making progress and that’s day-to-day. There is hope that Proctor will be ready to play next week against Wisconsin. Proctor missed the game against Western Kentucky due to a shoulder injury he suffered during pregame warmups last Saturday.
