Universal Orlando Resort’s Epic Universe theme park, scheduled to open in 2025, will feature a Loews hotel with “astronomical”-themed amenities and exclusive park benefits for guests.

The 500-room Universal Helios Grand Hotel, a Loews-branded property, will be a “Mediterranean-inspired sanctuary” in Celestial Park, which Universal Orlando Resort says will be the “heart” of Epic Universe with its acres of gardens, waterways and walking trails.

The Universal Helios Grand Hotel will draw inspiration from the “astronomical and mythological” elements that distinguish Celestial Park from other areas of the Epic Universe, including celestial patterns, constellations and Mediterranean design elements, the resort explained in a press release.

The property is designed to “combine immersion and relaxation” and features “tranquil sleeping accommodations and fun amenities,” according to Universal Orlando.

A special part of the hotel will be the “How to Train Your Dragon” children’s suites. These are colorful rooms decorated with typical elements from the Universal Pictures film.

The hotel will also include a pool, fitness center, game room and several dining concepts, including Helios Bar, a rooftop lounge. On-site restaurants include Flora Taverna, offering Mediterranean comfort food, Lotus Lagoon, a poolside bar and grill, and Aurora Market, a grab-and-go coffee and grocery store.

In addition to the hotel lobby, there will be a dedicated guest entrance to Epic Universe – a first for Universal Orlando, which has a portfolio of 11 hotels with around 11,000 guest rooms.

Considered “the crown jewel of Epic Universe and the pinnacle of Universal Orlando’s hotel experiences,” Universal Helios Grand Hotel is part of Universal Orlando’s reimagined Signature Collection, which will feature full-service hotels with outstanding service and exceptional dining, according to the resort.

Other hotels in the collection include Loews Portofino Bay Hotel, Hard Rock Hotel, Loews Royal Pacific Resort and Loews Sapphire Falls Resort.

Loews Hotels & Co and Universal Orlando share a long-term joint venture partnership that began over 20 years ago.
