“Lone Peak High Standout Austin Pay Commits to BYU Football”

PROVO, Utah – BYU Football has received a commitment from Austin Pay in the 2025 class.

Pay, the younger brother of BYU linemen Connor and Trevor Pay, announced his pledge to the Cougars during a ceremony at Lone Peak High School.

He is also the son of former BYU and NFL offensive lineman Gary Pay. So with Austin Pay joining the BYU class, the pay pipeline to BYU is strong.

Top seed Lone Peak chose BYU over offers from Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas A&M, NC State, Arkansas and others.

BYU made progress in its recruitment with Pay after inviting him on an official visit last June. Pay has had other official visits, including a recent trip to Norman to watch the Oklahoma Sooners.

But he picks BYU, which has returned to form along the offensive line this season under the direction of run game coordinator TJ Woods, who coaches that unit.

Pay is ranked as the fourth-best overall prospect in the state of Utah by the 247Sports Composite. He is ranked 529th in the country according to the 247Sports Composite.

Pay is the second-highest ranked recruit in BYU’s class behind fellow offensive lineman Alai Kalaniuvalu, who committed hours after Pay on Saturday.

BYU has four offensive line commitments for the 2025 recruiting class.
