Lufthansa has opened its newly renovated premium lounge at Newark Liberty International Airport in Terminal B, the airline announced on Wednesday. The lounge is available to first and business class customers of Lufthansa, Swiss and Austrian Airlines, as well as passengers with HON Circle and Senator status, Lufthansa said.

The 6,500-square-foot lounge was closed for eight months during the $10 million renovation. The renovation added a kitchen and opened the space to about 165 guests, a 25 percent increase from previous capacity. The entrance leads to a central “Skyline Bar” and various seating areas, including a “bistro area” with a seasonally changing menu.

“One third of the seats are designed for working and the other two thirds for relaxing,” Lufthansa product chief Victoria Schuster said during a media preview, adding that the lounge is the first to feature the company’s new “concept design.”

The space includes two private rooms for phone calls or meetings. There is also a separate first class dining area where meals are served and can accommodate around 20 customers.
