Man arrested in Gypsum after curfew

The Eagle County Sheriff’s Office issued a shelter-in-place alert for Gypsum Thursday evening after several calls before arresting a 29-year-old man who reportedly broke into several homes in the Quail Circle and Pinon Street area.

The alert was issued at 10:02 p.m. to warn residents of a “possibly armed group.” It was lifted just 14 minutes later after officers, with assistance from the Colorado State Patrol, arrested the suspect, a news release said.

The area was thoroughly searched, but no firearm was found, the sheriff’s office said.
