Martha Stewart seems to think the idea of Harris as president is a good thing and subtly supports

Shortly after the recent support of Kamala Harris by celebrities such as Taylor Swift and Linda Ronstadt, foodie icon Martha Stewart has now also casually added her name to the list of animal lovers who will vote for the Democrats in the 2024 election.

On Friday, The Daily Beast broke the news that Stewart, during an onstage conversation with Joanna Coles, the network’s chief creative and content officer, at Tuesday’s Retail Influencer CEO Forum, mentioned that she would be tuning in to Harris’ debate against Trump, adding in her characteristically understated manner who she was cheering for.

“Kamala,” she said, and The Daily Beast emphasized that she pronounced the candidate’s name correctly.

During her conversation with Coles earlier this week, Stewart said she supported Harris primarily because she wanted a president “who doesn’t hate New York” and “doesn’t hate democracy.”

Trump and Stewart have been at loggerheads since 2006 over competing versions of “The Apprentice” that aired at the same time. Mother Jones wrote an entire article about it in 2020 titled “The Trump Files: When Donald Clashed with Martha Stewart.”

“I should fire him on the air,” Stewart comments on their argument in the article. “And then Donald liked it too much. And look, you know, it’s fantastic for him. It’s given him a platform. And now he thinks he can be president.”
