Mass appeal: Park-9 Dog Bar – Boston News, Weather, Sports

BOSTON (WHDH) – If you love taking your dog to the park but feel like you’re missing out on the fun, we know a place that’s sure to get some conversation started.

Amanda Crawford from “7” takes a closer look at an outdoor oasis that is becoming increasingly popular.

The Park-9 Dog Bar is a beer garden that really caters to dogs.

“We’re not just dog-friendly, we’re dog-friendly. You can certainly bring your dog, but we wanted to create an environment where dogs are not only allowed, but welcomed,” said Emily Gusse.

Park 9 at Fenway is pure joy.

“If your dog enjoys running around the park off-leash or splashing around in our pools, he’s more than welcome. If he needs a break, we also have plenty of areas where he can run on a leash.”

When Gusse came up with this dog paradise, safety was her top priority.

“We just want to provide a safer experience than your average dog park, so we ask that you sign up with us. We just want proof of vaccinations and we want to make sure your dog is up to date so he and the dogs around him are protected,” she said.

No dog? No problem!

“You don’t need a dog to come here. Let me say this loud and clear: There’s nothing weird about coming here without a dog! You can come and watch the dogs play and enjoy your drink,” she said.

The pop-up is open Wednesday to Sunday, now through October.

You can even rent the space for private events – anyone fancy a dog birthday party?
