Max Werner takes third place at EMX250 Switzerland

JM Racing Honda’s Max Werner finished third in the penultimate round of the EMX250 Championship in Frauenfeld, Switzerland. Werner managed to reach this position in the second race after finishing only 33rd in the first race due to dehydration.

It was really hot on Saturday and that made it difficult for the drivers. The track was dry and fast. After Werner managed to get a thirteenth time on the clock in qualifying, he didn’t get off to a good start in the first run. He had to work his way back up from twentieth place. That worked well and by the middle of the race he was already in twelfth place. He kept the pace high until he overheated and had to slow down. Werner could no longer drive normally and lost many positions. He was eventually classified in 33rd place.

After the race, Werner immediately went to the infirmary for treatment. Fortunately, he slowly recovered and was able to take part in the second race on Sunday morning. Due to the heavy rain during the night from Saturday to Sunday, the conditions were completely different. The track had become muddy and very treacherous.

Werner took the lead in the second race and led the field after the start. In the early stages he fell back to third place, but drove a very strong race and was able to hold his own. Werner crossed the finish line in third place and scored many important points.

Due to his zero points in the first run, he had to settle for eleventh place in the daily rankings. He is now in ninth place in the overall EMX250 championship.

Brent van Doninck suffered a setback in Switzerland. He fell at the start of the qualifying run and suffered a concussion. He is also suffering a lot from a screw in his foot that was inserted when he broke his foot at the beginning of the year. Van Doninck will undergo an operation shortly so that he can soon start training again without any problems.
