Miami Heat legend Dwyane Wade is jealous of the Boston Celtics’ ring ceremony

Miami Heat legend Dwyane Wade wants to attend the team’s championship ring ceremony and hopes it becomes a reality sooner rather than later.

Wade openly admitted that he was jealous when he saw Boston Celtics legends Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen celebrate the 2024 championship banner before their season-opening game against the New York Knicks.

“I want to be part of the victory. I’m not going to lie guys, and this is unconventional, I was jealous when I saw the Boston Celtics the other night,” Wade told reporters on Sunday. “Because I saw Kevin Garnett), Paul Pierce, Ray Allen out there… But I thought, man, I want to be that guy. I want to be the old man who comes back with the team and wins championships. For me it’s important to lead by example.”

Wade hates losing, especially when it’s at the hands of the Celtics. Great champions like Wade do not accept mediocrity.

Wade faced the Celtics from 2010 to 2012 and the struggles were bitter. The Heat won two of those series.

The Heat reached the Finals in 2020 and 2023, losing to the Los Angeles Lakers and Denver Nuggets, respectively. The team looked exhausted in both series.

The past is the past. It’s up to veteran leaders Bam Adebayo, Jimmy Butler and Tyler Herro to help this team and bring the organization a fourth championship in 2025.

The team got off to a rocky start after being embarrassed by their Southeast Division rivals, the Orlando Magic. They got revenge by winning the first road game of the season against the Charlotte Hornets last Saturday.

The Heat are looking for their first home win on Monday against the Detroit Pistons. A win would make Wade’s night sweeter and more satisfying.
