Michael February has just released his latest edit from Morocco. The video, aptly titled “MOROCCO (PAGE 3),” concludes a three-part series directed by Ian Thurtell.

Thurtell is a surf photographer based in Cape Town, South Africa. Over the last decade, he has made a name for himself both for his beautiful images and his innovative approach to capturing them. As he explained in a 2020 interview, he actually builds his underwater housings himself, an approach born out of necessity.

“I bought my first SLR and thought, ‘I just can’t afford the case for this thing,'” he explained. “So my dad helped me and we built this pretty clunky fiberglass case for it. It was probably an inch thick, overprotective and all. I think it even had two O-rings at the time. (But we) slapped it in and it worked. I built my own pistol grip and haven’t changed that formula since. I still build my own underwater cases to this day.”

The first part of MOROCCO was released two weeks ago and can be found here. The second part came out last Tuesday and can be found here. The films were produced by Spearhead Unlimited from February.
