Minto Communities sells 1.6-acre property for new tractor accessories store

Westlake will soon have a new store where residents can purchase supplies for their home, garden, farming and pets.

Minto Communities, the developer and master builder of the lifestyle-focused planned community of Westlake, has sold a 4-acre commercial site to a developer who will build a new location for Tractor Supply Co., the nation’s largest rural lifestyle retailer.

Tractor Supply sells items such as lawn mowers, trailers, tools, farm and ranching equipment, clothing, pet food and livestock feed. Residents have access to a pet washing station where they can bathe their furry friends for a small fee.

The Westlake Tractor Supply store will be built at 16830 Persimmon Blvd. in the Westlake Landings business park. The main building will be approximately 24,000 square feet, and the adjacent 20,000 square foot fenced garden center is expected to break ground and open early next year. The company currently operates two other Tractor Supply stores in Palm Beach County and more than 2,200 stores in 49 states.

“We are very excited to welcome Tractor Supply to Westlake,” said John Carter Sr., Vice President of Minto Communities USA. “With so many new homes being built in our city, I expect there will be a great demand for their products and services. That such a large retailer as Tractor Supply has chosen to open in Westlake is a testament to the market potential of our growing city.”

With a population of nearly 7,000, Westlake is one of the fastest growing communities in Palm Beach County and all of Florida.

Tractor Supply’s announcement comes as the city is experiencing a boom in retail and restaurant construction. Another local developer is finishing construction on two outdoor shopping centers that will form the Shoppes of Westlake. Tenants include Starbucks, KFC, Taco Bell, Habit Burger, 3 Natives, Heartland Dental, Verizon Wireless, Go Green Cleaners and Orangetheory Fitness. Publix, which opened a grocery store in Westlake a year ago, has begun construction on a new shopping center on adjacent property, phase two of its approved development plan.

On the residential side, Minto recently opened four furnished model homes in its newest townhome neighborhood, The Terraces. The Terraces features 3- to 4-bedroom homes from the new Courtyard Collection with prices starting in the mid-$300s. All have two-car garages, covered front-entry porches, and impact-rated windows. Interior features include dramatically high ceilings on the main floor, kitchen islands with granite countertops, energy-efficient appliances, and walk-in closets.

Buyers in Westlake will also find an impressive selection of single-family homes and estates starting in the mid-$400s. All homeowners can enjoy the extensive amenities of the $22 million Westlake Adventure Park. The park features a resort-style lagoon pool with a tower slide, splash pad and poolside concessions, as well as many other amenities.
