Taziki’s is located in the former vacant Steak and Shake on N. Cowhorn Creek Loop. The new restaurant has been remodeled and renovated to give it a more sophisticated Mediterranean look and feel when you walk through the doors of this new restaurant.

“We wanted to bring something new, fresh, exciting and healthy to the Texarkana area,” said Mark McCarley, one of the partner owners of Taziki’s.”

Owners Matt Wilson, Mark James, Wade Simpson and Mark McCarley, who already own Gusano’s, are proud to expand the food offerings while showcasing a different type of food culture in the area.

The new restaurant also has an outdoor terrace with a pergola, so you can dine outdoors if you wish.

The story of Taziki

In 1997, Keith Richards (not to be confused with the Rolling Stones band member) and his wife Amy vacationed in Greece and fell in love with the people and the culture. What struck them most during their visit were the small Mediterranean cafes where townspeople gathered to celebrate life and a healthier lifestyle. The connection with the families and people who lived there was something the Richards wanted to bring back to the States. So in 1998, the first Taziki’s Mediterranean Cafe was born, not only to establish a healthier lifestyle, but also to bring families together in their community and abroad.
