New stores will open in K Market

Yes! Buckwheat

Yes! Buckwheat is the newest vendor in the food court of the K Market grocery store on John Marr Drive in Annandale. The small shop offers noodle and dumpling dishes, all made from scratch with buckwheat.

Buckwheat has a chewy texture, says Sungjin Cho, whose parents and aunts opened a restaurant in Korea in 1993 and launched “Yes! Buckwheat” in July.

Only three vendors – Sunni Sushi, K Street and You Like Skewers – that were present in the food court when it opened in 2021 are still there.

The mochi donut shop has been replaced by China House, which serves sweet and sour pork, deep-fried meat dumplings, black bean noodles, spicy noodle soup with seafood or beef brisket, and more. SB Han’s Catering offers a full menu of Korean specialties.

There are several other retailers in the K-Markt.

K-Pop Nation is back for a limited time. The pop-up store offers a wide selection of music, photo cards, and other items featuring K-Pop stars. Stop by before it closes on August 12.

Two weeks ago, a store specializing in Korean cosmetics called Arte K-Beauty World opened. Yoon Lee, the owner of Thauma clothing store at 7224 Columbia Pike, opened K Fashion in K Market in July.

Karen Park opened two side-by-side stores in K-Market in April – CareSys, which specializes in air purifiers and water filters, and Happy Living, which sells massage chairs and mattresses. The mattresses can radiate heat on one or both sides.

Annandale Florist, which was located at 7025 Columbia Pike before its building was destroyed in a fire, moved into the K Market. The old building will house a Dunkin’ Donut/coffee shop once renovations are complete.
