Notre Dame Football loses tight end in top-20 showdown against Louisville

No. 15 Notre Dame hosts No. 16 Louisville this weekend for a showdown in South Bend, but when the Fighting Irish play, they will be without a tight end.

Sophomore Cooper Flanagan, who caught a 28-yard touchdown pass against Purdue, was officially ruled out by head coach Marcus Freeman, who met with the media Monday afternoon.

Flanagan suffered an ankle injury in last Saturday’s game against Miami (Ohio) and was not on Notre Dame’s updated roster released late Monday morning.

Flanagan has caught three passes for 53 yards and a touchdown so far in 2024. Freeman did not provide any information on how long Flanagan is expected to be out.
