Citibank’s second Arlington branch is scheduled to open in Clarendon by the end of the year.

Later this week, “Coming Soon” signs will appear in the windows at 2879 Clarendon Blvd., announcing the impending opening of the bank’s first new branch in the Washington area in over a decade, a spokesperson told ARLnow.

The bank will fill a 4,000-square-foot space at The Crossing Clarendon that was previously occupied by Orvis, a sporting goods store that closed its doors earlier this year.

“We are excited to welcome the Clarendon community,” said Mindy Mercaldo, head of Citi’s U.S. branch network. “This branch will offer some of the most innovative and flexible features in our network that will make you feel comfortable when you walk through the door.”

On one of the bank’s interior walls will hang a piece of art depicting a map of Arlington with a marker showing the branch’s location.

Citibank currently has numerous ATMs in Arlington and a branch along N. Glebe Road in Ballston, as well as several locations in DC
