Private jet charter provider Opul Jets will upgrade its fleet through a new partnership with SpaceX’s Starlink Aviation. Under the agreement, the compatible fleet of Opul Jets will be equipped with the latest satellite internet technology, providing passengers with unparalleled connectivity.

Starlink Aviation, SpaceX’s aerospace division, is at the forefront of satellite internet solutions and is known for revolutionizing onboard connectivity. With this installation, OPUL Jets passengers will be able to enjoy high-speed, low-latency internet and seamless access to streaming, live sports, movies and more while flying. The Starlink system promises download speeds of 40 to 220 Mbps and upload speeds of 8 to 25 Mbps with latency of less than 99 milliseconds. This allows passengers to stay connected whether they are conducting business, watching live events or simply surfing the internet.

OPUL Jets will initially install the Starlink system on its Bombardier Global Express XRS. With a range of 6,500 nautical miles, this ultra-long-range jet is ideal for intercontinental travel.

Harry Ackerman, Group CEO of Opel Jets, explained the partnership: “The integration of Starlink technology into our fleet represents a transformative step for OPUL Jets and makes us one of the leading private jet companies in the world.” Our commitment to a first-class travel experience “We offer a perfect fit with Starlink’s capabilities and ensures our passengers can stay connected to what matters most, wherever they are in the world.”

Installation of Starlink hardware is seamless and efficient and is typically completed as part of routine maintenance checks to avoid service interruptions. Each aircraft will be equipped with an aero terminal (the antenna), a power supply, and two wireless access points, all connected together with minimal, simple wiring. The installation was carried out by ACC Columbia, Germany and supported by the Starlink Aviation technical team.
