Packers fans are looking forward to a “winter warning” in Lambeau for the game against the Texans

LAMBEAU FIELD, Wis. (WBAY) – It may be a pleasant October weekend, but the Packers are giving everyone a “winter warning” when they take the field on Sunday.

The team will debut its new white jerseys when it takes on the Houston Texans.

Winter is coming early this year and while it may be warmer than usual on Sunday, a whiteout can still happen.

While the atrium is full of Packers and Houston fans, some of the Packers fans are rocking their white jerseys in preparation for the winter warning. The Packers hope everyone joins in on the fun by wearing white to make it feel like a blizzard.

A couple from Texas stopped by Titletown for the first time and were simply amazed at the love for football.

“Just how crowded it is, no pun intended. How crowded it is, even on days when there are no games. I think that’s a rarity back home in San Antonio,” said San Antonio resident Rebecca Villarreal.

“For me as a football fan, being here is almost like being in the Madison Square Garden of football,” said Aaron Williams of San Antonio. “It’s really cool because you see all the new stadiums, like the one they just built in LA, and you think, Oh, all these bells and whistles and stuff. But it’s really cool to just see the whole story.”

Or for fans like Remy from Wyoming, who is here with his family to celebrate his birthday and watch his favorite team.

“I’m just looking forward to watching a good game. I think it’s going to be pretty close,” Remy Lindell said. But the icing on the cake is that his favorite team is playing against his favorite player: Stefon Diggs.

“He is my favorite player of all time. He’s so much fun to watch. I love watching his route run,” Remy said.

Young Brody Allen’s first game will take place on Sunday. He gets to experience it with his grandpa, who sits in the front row behind the Packers.

“When my grandpa told me he was taking me to the Packers game, I thought, ‘Oh my God!’ Then he told me about Row 1 and I didn’t know what to say,” Brody said.

For many it will be a first in Lambeau and the white uniforms will make it even “cooler” when the team takes the field.
