Food trends come and go, and while some are welcomed with open arms, others are less popular. Everyone eventually hits their breaking point when they’ve scrolled through the seventh feta pasta recipe in a day. When Redditor u/MineralWaterMike asked the r/AskReddit community to name the food trend they wish would go away, people shared their hottest views with us. Here are a few they mentioned.

1.“Twenty dollar, soaking wet, mediocre burgers with no toppings.”

2.“‘Comment ‘recipe’ and I’ll send it straight to your DMs!’ Could you please just put the recipe in your Instagram caption?”

4.“Wagyu. Fried Wagyu steak, Wagyu burger, describing something as ‘the Wagyu of Turkey,’ Wagyu at Arby’s, etc.”

5.“Deconstruct. Don’t get me wrong, I love good food. I just find it lazy and uninspired 99% of the time.”

6.“The TikTok and Instagram people who just throw random things into a foil pan with an obscene amount of cheese and call it cooking. Stop it.”

—u/Dels79

7.“Food trucks cost the same as a traditional restaurant and require tips, while you have to sit on a hard curb to eat your food.”

8.“A fast food meal costs $15-20 per person.”

“At the moment, fast food isn’t much cheaper than proper restaurants. Why would I go all the way to McDonald’s to eat a sad, unsatisfying burger when I could spend about €4 more and get a much bigger and tastier burger at a local restaurant? If I just want cheap food, I’ll go to a local takeaway. In my experience, they’re cheaper than fast food chains for the amount of food you get.”

9.“I’m ready to see the charcoal-infused food trend disappear. It looks cool, but it doesn’t taste good.”

“I want my $3 tacos back.”

12.“Dip expensive seafood in cheese. Why?”

“Agreed! Lobster goes under in mac and cheese.”

13.“Coffee shouldn’t be loaded with sugar and syrup. While we’re at it, let’s just cap the price of a coffee at $5.”

14.“Combining things and calling it a ‘bowl.’ No, you’re eating a salad with maybe chicken or salmon – not a fancy high-protein superfood bowl.”

—u/Cutterstrophe_

15.“Very expensive cuts of meat that used to be dirt cheap. Wings, flank steak, brisket, pork shoulder, etc.”

16.“Videos of people squashing and tearing apart baked goods. Yes, it’s nice to see what the inside looks like, but not when you’re squashing it like an overgrown toddler. Cut it open like a civilized adult.”

17.“Hot honey. Well, it’s good, but not on everything.”

18.“Menu ‘hacks’ from people who don’t understand the meaning of the term. For example: You just added ranch to your Western cheeseburger with bacon, Tiffany.”

—u/DeadMansPizzaParty

“I also don’t like ‘secret menu items’. It’s not a secret menu item. You just buy three different things, put them together and call them a secret menu item.”

19.“Weird croissants.”

20.“Salted caramel. Please just give me caramel and stop putting sea salt on it. Can we please just have caramel again? 99 percent of all caramel I see now is salted.”

—u/Karnakite

21.“Too much sauce. Sauce complements good food; it should not be used to mask bland food (I’m looking at you, Raising Cane’s Chicken).”

22.“Sports or concert arenas with ‘gourmet food.’ There’s a $20, 2,000 calorie burger that’s too soggy to eat in one of those tiny seats. In that environment, I think you should just keep it simple.”

—u/ccc1942

23.“Milk substitutes are more expensive. I’m not trying to be trendy; I’m trying to get through the rest of my day without shitting my pants.”
