Peoria follows in the footsteps of Surprise and Mesa and surveys its residents about their preferences in retail, dining and entertainment.

Before the start of the Online surveyProgram manager Susana Trasente said Peoria has done its homework: “We found that Peoria is the highest-selling city in the West Valley in terms of retail sales per capita. We also found that restaurant sales are comparable to Phoenix.”

Peoria’s survey asks residents to share which restaurants and retail options they would support within five miles of their home.

“Whatever our analysis reveals, we’ll communicate it to the public,” Trasente said. “And then our team, our business attraction team, will do the fun project of going to these specific restaurant retail spaces that have been requested and informing them, and hopefully it opens the door for further conversations.”

The Survey on Peoria website is open until September 15th.

Surprise interviewed the residents over several years on preferences in retail, hospitality and entertainment, and Mesa launched a similar survey Earlier this year, people were asked to rate their top three restaurant preferences and share what types of businesses they leave Mesa for and visit.
