POINT GUARD: Georgetown Hoyas’ Malik Mack on Bob Cousy watch list

Georgetown sophomore Malik Mack has been named to the 20-man preseason watch list for the 2025 Bob Cousy Award, the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame announced Monday. The Bob Cousy Award recognizes the best point guard in Division I men’s college basketball. Forever Hoyas D’Vauntes Smith-Rivera and Chris Wright made these preseason lists in 2015 and 2011, respectively.

Back in April, Ed Cooley and the Georgetown Hoyas secured a commitment from the Harvard transfer. The 6-foot-3 point guard from Oxon Hill, Maryland, was named Ivy League Rookie of the Year after averaging 17.2 ppg (.410 FG, .341 3PT) and 4.8 assists per game. Cooley recently spoke about Mack’s playing ability and attitude, believing that the sky is the limit for him.

Mack was considered one of the best point guards in the transfer portal.

Jayden Epps was named to the Preseason All-BIG EAST Third Team, and TCU graduate transfer Micah Peavy will form a formidable backcourt for the Hoyas – each taking on the point-maker or playmaker role at different points in each game.

Here are some other highlights to help you get to know Mack again:
