REVIEW: When Priyanka Chopra epically explained the importance of gender equality and proved why she deserves to be a ‘global icon’

Priyanka Chopra is one of the most influential global icons today and no one but her own wisdom and vision to make this world a better place has shaped her entire personality. We remember when PeeCee taught a lesson to a person who confused gender equality with equality and won our hearts by proving why she is truly a beauty with brains.

In 2018, PeeCee was in Dubai to attend the Global Education & Skills Forum (GESF) when a male journalist questioned the actress’ alleged biased feminism. He stated that women in Indian films do not hesitate to slap a man for his stupidity and he has never seen Priyanka Chopra speak out against the mistreatment of a man.

“Where is your equality? If, God forbid, a man hits a woman, it is a crime. The sky is falling… And if on screen a girl hits a man… Where is your protest as a feminist? Where is the equality?” he roared, but was soon silenced by the diva. With extreme agitation, Priyanka phrased her reply as an indirect slap to the male journalist’s sexist question.

She began by explaining the fundamental difference between gender equality and equal rights, noting that there is no debate that men and women are physiologically different. The 42-year-old added: “When we talk about equality and opportunity, we’re talking about mental opportunity. We’re not saying we want to be like a 200-pound man and beat the shit out of somebody else. We’re not saying that.”

Priyanka Chopra said that women actually want to have a job, want to be a CEO, without anyone questioning their decisions or their drive to be someone. She continued, “So if she’s 50 years old, a CEO and a mother of three, don’t question her… So if a girl slaps a guy for sexually harassing her, he deserves it.”

I mean, what could be more brutal than that? PeeCee has built a career from nothing and has been an ambassador for several global social chains over the years. Priyanka is not just someone for the poster but has largely contributed her life to whatever she could do for the society and the general conscience.
