Robert Pattinson is the top candidate for the Warner Bros picture of Bong Joon-ho

Warner Bros has finally released the first trailer for Mickey 17the science fiction film with Robert Pattinson is Bong Joon-ho’s successor to his Oscar winner for best picture parasitewhose publication is scheduled for January 31, 2025.

Based on the novel Mickey7 Directed by Edward Ashton, the film follows unlikely hero Mickey Barnes (Robert Pattinson), who is an Expendable: an expendable employee on a human expedition sent to colonize the ice world of Niflheim. Whenever a mission becomes too dangerous – or even suicidal – the crew turns to Mickey. When one specimen dies, a new body is regenerated, with its memories mostly intact. After six deaths, Mickey understands the terms of his deal… and why it was the only vacant colonial position when he accepted it.

In addition to Pattinson, who adopts an unexpected accent as Mickey, Naomi Ackie (Star Wars: Episode IX – The Rise of Skywalker), Steven Yeun (No), Toni Collette (Hereditary) and Mark Ruffalo (The poor) star. The film is produced by Dede Gardner, Jeremy Kleiner, Joon-Ho and Dooho Choi. Brad Pitt, Jesse Ehrman, Peter Dodd and Marianne Jenkins serve as executive producers.

Most recently, Tim Burton’s Beetlejuice Beetlejuicewhich continues to top the box office, grossing over $267 million worldwide and counting. Warner Bros. will next release the anticipated documentary. Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Storyin collaboration with Fathom Events, on September 21. The studio’s other projects coming this year include the Max-bound Salem’s Lot (October 3) Joker: Foil for Two (October 4), Max premiere thriller Caddo Lake (October 10) from producer M. Night Shyamalan, Clint Eastwood’s AFI Fest premiere Juror No. 2 (November 1), romantic comedy “Max” Favorites (28 November) and the animated The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim (December 13).
