Rodri wins the 2024 Men’s Ballon d’Or | Ballon d’Or 2024/25

Manchester City midfielder Rodri has won the 2024 Men’s Ballon d’Or.

Rodri received the award by playing an important role for club and country in the 2023/24 season, helping City win a record fourth consecutive English Premier League title before being recognized for his impressive performances in Spain’s victory in Germany was named UEFA EURO 2024 player of the tournament.

How the winner was determined

Barcelona midfielder Aitana Bonmatí won the women’s Ballon d’Or for the second year in a row, while Carlo Ancelotti was named men’s coach of the year and Real Madrid was named men’s club of the year. Rodri’s Spanish teammate Lamine Yamal won the Kopa Trophy, while his Premier League counterpart Aston Villa’s Emiliano Martínez won the Yashin Trophy.

The 68th edition of the prestigious Ballon d’Or awards ceremony took place on Monday, October 28, at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris. The Ballon d’Or has been awarded annually by France Football since 1956 and is the highest award a footballer can receive for his outstanding achievements and exceptional talent.

For the first time this year, the awards were jointly organized by UEFA and Groupe Amaury, owner of France Football and L’Équipe.
