Seahawks veteran WR Tyler Lockett is riding a three-game losing streak

Seahawks veteran WR Tyler Lockett is riding a three-game losing streak

The Seattle Seahawks dropped their third straight game on Thursday, losing 36-24 to their NFC West archrival San Francisco 49ers. It was an extremely sloppy performance from the Seahawks, who are now 3-3 despite starting the season a perfect 3-0.

Veteran wide receiver Tyler Lockett was one of Seattle’s best players. Lockett recorded four receptions for 65 yards and a touchdown. His goal late in the fourth quarter gave the Seahawks hope of rallying from a deficit. San Francisco’s next play from scrimmage consisted of a 76-yard run.

Lockett discussed the loss with reporters Thursday night.

“I haven’t seen anyone give up out here,” Lockett said. “When I first came into the league, you would hear stories about this: Of course, as you get closer to the playoffs, you see teams getting eliminated and players checking out. We won’t check each other out. We will fight until the end, even if we still tried to score at the end. We can’t just throw in the towel, they won’t do that when it comes to adversity. We will persevere instead of running away from it.

It’s encouraging to hear that Seattle’s locker room is pulling together even after a three-game losing streak. The Seahawks have an incredibly difficult list of upcoming games ahead of them, so solidarity is required. After losing on Thursday Night Football, this mini-bye sees the Seahawks travel to Atlanta to take on the Kirk Cousins-led Falcons before returning to Lumen Field to host the Super Bowl contender Buffalo Bills.

Lockett must continue to bring his teammates together in the face of adversity.
